A number of special visitors can now be found within the Pinewoods as part of a Summer Scarecrow Stroll. The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) in conjunction with Harrogate in Bloom invited schools, community groups and local businesses to design and install a scarecrow.

Funding Success for the Pinewoods! Wed, 2015-07-08 11:01

The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) has secured over £40,000 of funding this year to help with conservation and improvements of The Pinewoods. The funds will be used for a number of key projects including the re-surfacing of a main path, professional removal of Himalayan Balsam plus the re-introduction of native wild flowers.

Chalara (Ash die-back) confirmed near to the Pinewoods Tue, 2015-10-13 15:07

Harrogate Council have just confirmed that Chalara (known as Ash die-back) has been identified in a single Ash tree near to the Pinewoods. Swift removal of the infected tree has been arranged by the land owner.

As there are a number of young Ash in the Pinewoods members are encouraged to look out for signs of infection when in the woods and report to us if needed.

Now Open! ** Footpath Closure ** Sun, 2015-11-08 11:50

Update: The footpath as now been re-edged and resurfaced and is back open. Let us know what you think!

Please note the main path from Harlow Moor Road to the Recreation Field will be closed from Monday 9th November for up to 4 weeks for repairs and resurfacing works.

Harlow Moor Road, Nursery Lane East & across the Recreation Field will be an alternative route (see blue route on map below).

Local Harrogate charities working together on exciting new initiative.

Two Harrogate based charities have just announced an exciting new collaborative project. The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) and Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP) have come together to encourage use of the Pinewoods by those less able in the district.

Pinewoods Conservation Group is pleased to be 1 of 3 Charities being supported by Co-Op stores on Otley Road Harrogate.

On purchasing Co-op branded goods you could donate 1% percentage of your purchase monies to us or you can donate to all 3 nominated causes equally. 

As such we would appreciate it if all users of the Co-ops on Otley Road apply for card if not already in possession and ensure that Pinewoods Conservation Group and other local charities receive these funds.

Pinewoods Local Green Space Application Rejected! Mon, 2016-11-07 18:37

An application by Harrogate based charity The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) to have The Pinewoods designated as an official Local Green Space has been rejected by Harrogate Council. The application, made in June 2016, was a formal submission as part of the soon to be released new local plan process.
