A number of members have asked us about the area cleared in the woods next to Harlow Moor Road. We have had no prior warning of any works and seeking confirmation on full details from Harrogate Council. We know from North Yorkshire County Council that works are taking place to improve footpaths and add a pedestrian island as part of the recent Miller Homes development. We will keep all updated here and also via our Facebook and Twitter feeds. Detail |

We are pleased to confirm that a new management plan for the Pinewoods has now been published by Harrogate Council. The plan covers the next 10 years, from 2018 to 2028. The plan covers the 10 areas of the Pinewoods and outlines maintenance plans for each section. A copy can be download as below.

Updated 1st Feb 2014: Thank you to the 12 new members for January. Just another 88 to go to meet our 100 target for 2014. The Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) has launched a membership drive for 2014. The Harrogate based charity, which promotes the maintenance and conservation of the area known as the Pinewoods situated between the Valley Gardens and Harlow Carr Gardens, is looking to double its members during the year. Update: The footpath as now been re-edged and resurfaced and is back open. Let us know what you think! Please note the main path from Harlow Moor Road to the Recreation Field will be closed from Monday 9th November for up to 4 weeks for repairs and resurfacing works. Harlow Moor Road, Nursery Lane East & across the Recreation Field will be an alternative route (see blue route on map below). Detail |
