Designated Green Space Application

Updated 22nd Oct 2017: It has been confirmed that the new draft local plan due in November will confirm Designated Green Space for the Pinewoods. More details in Novemeber.

-----------------------

As part of the Harrogate Council local plan the Pinewoods Conservation Group has applied for the Pinewoods area to be designated as local green space. The designation can be used where the land is not extensive, is local in character and reasonably close to the community; and, where it is demonstrably special, for example because of its beauty, historic significance, recreational value (including as a playing field), tranquility or richness of its wildlife.

This will provide additional protection to developments and planning applications.

As part of this work activities have been underway to document the bio-diversity within the Pinewoods. If anything has been missed then please contact us.
