The sun didn’t arrive for the Pinewoods Open Day last week but lot of visitors did. Many hundreds of visitors enjoyed the various stalls and events arranged by the Pinewoods Conservation Group. The day was also attended by the Mayor and Mayoress with the prize raffle being drawn by local MP Andrew Jones. The highlight of the day was a number of demonstrations by local group "Top Dog Agility" who kept the crowds entertained.
The PCG Chair Neil Hind said "It was really pleasing to see so may people at the end and in the Pinewoods. As well as attracting new members it also gives us opportunity to show off the woods and the work that the group has been doing. We would like to thank not only those who visited but all those who supported this event."
It is expected the event will have raised over £800 for the group to help with maintenance and conservation projects within the woods.
