Get Involved in Our Christmas Advent Walk Mon, 2023-10-23 13:26

Let's add a touch of enchantment to the forest by painting our own elf doors. Get your creative spirit ready and bring some extra magic to this festive season.  We have 24 numbered elf doors that need to be painted so that we can put them up in the Pinewoods for the advent walk.

We'll provide the base doors (with thanks to Harlow Hill Men in Sheds) and we will collect if needed. You bring the imagination! Let's make this woodland adventure truly special. Get painting!

Harrogate Spring Water to consult on expansion plans Mon, 2022-05-30 16:27

Harrogate Spring Water, now owned by Danone, has confirmed it is reverting to its original 2017 plan that covered a smaller area than the 2019 proposals rejected in 2021. The company is now putting together a “Reserved Matters” application which will detail how the new building will look and how the surrounding area will be landscaped.

Reporting Anti Social Behaviour Fri, 2021-05-28 10:59

Although anti-social behaviour in The Pinewoods is rare and caused by a minority it is important that issues are reported formally. This will allow authorities to identify any increases in issues and direct any resources needed to intervene as appropriate.

We are therefore asking members and visitors to report any occurrences of:

• vandalism • possible criminal damage • evidence of drug taking • location of fires • large areas of litter

How to Object To Rotary Wood Plans Tue, 2021-03-02 12:47

Following the rejection of the recent planning variation for a larger extension to the Harrogate Spring Water bottling plant into Rotary Wood, we can now confirm that the original application is now being reviewed by Harrogate Council. The full plans for the original extension were submitted in May 2020 along with the variation for the larger extension. (As a reminder outline planning for the original extension was approved in May 2017 with a number of strict condition.) We held any decision on those full plans until we knew the outcome of the application for the larger site. However, we now expect the planning committee to be asked to approve the original application over the next few months.

Research on Carbon Losses from the Proposed Rotary Wood Felling Sat, 2021-01-23 16:23

We are grateful to the team at Priestley International Centre for Climate, University of Leeds, especially Anna Gugan & Professor Piers M. Forster, for their research into the carbon loss at Rotary Wood.

The report confirms our concern that the mitigation being offered does not equate to land being lost with regards to carbon loss.
